Clockwork Pig w/ Fiddle
WIND - UP PIG PLAYING FIDDLE. Schuco 980/2 fiddle-playing pig. Pale pink felt body and head. Pig has tongue sticking out and rosy cheeks. He is wearing a blue cap w/ a blue sailor’s shirt and is carrying a tinplate violin that is brown in color. Keyhole in back for wind-up key. Part of a Walt Disney Three Little Pigs set. Manufactured by Schuco. Made in Germany, c. 1934.
Based on Disney’s 1933 Silly Symphony animated short film “Three Little Pigs”. In 1934, Schuco struck a licensing deal with Disney, which allowed them to design toys in the likeness of the characters in the film.

Obvious overall wear and age. Felt is faded, discolored and has some holes. See photos. Does not work anymore.
